Introduction & scope
Seamless Socials (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Seamless Socials platform, including websites, mobile experiences, and related services that help you plan and manage local events, book and attend café experiences, manage registrations, and access rewards or offers where available.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process, why we process it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what choices you have. By using our services, you acknowledge this policy and the practices described here, subject to any additional terms presented at the point of collection (for example, consent banners or checkout flows).
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our services. For questions, see Contact & grievance.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Seamless Socials, we may collect or receive categories of information including:
Account & profile
- Name, email address, phone number, password or authentication signals (we do not store your full password in plain text).
- Profile preferences, saved interests, and communication preferences where you provide them.
Bookings, events & cafés
- Event or café reservations, party size, time slots, coordination and access details (such as guest lists or entry types), QR codes or redemption identifiers, special requests, and related transaction metadata.
- Information you submit to event organizers or café partners through forms we host or facilitate (for example dietary notes), which they may process under their own policies.
Payments
- Billing details, payment method type, transaction IDs, and payment status. Card or UPI processing is typically handled by regulated payment partners; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Rewards & offers
- Eligibility, cashback or discount entitlements, referral or promotion participation, and audit logs needed to prevent abuse.
Technical & usage data
- Device type, operating system, browser, approximate location derived from IP where needed for fraud or compliance, language settings, and timestamps.
- Product analytics such as pages viewed, searches, referral URLs, and crash diagnostics—often in aggregated or pseudonymous form.
Communications
- Content of support chats or emails, feedback you send us, and records of notices we send (booking confirmations, policy updates where required).
How we receive information
We obtain personal data from:
- You, when you register, book, pay, contact us, or upload content.
- Partners, such as organizers or cafés who manage listings or check-in lists (for example, guest lists for an event you joined through us).
- Service providers that help us operate the platform (hosting, analytics, payment, messaging), under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
- Automatically, through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies when you use our services.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the platform—including event planning and management, café discovery, search and filters, booking, guest-list and on-site coordination, waitlists, and in-venue experiences such as QR-based benefits.
- Create and secure your account, authenticate you, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Process payments, refunds, and incentives in line with our terms and partner rules.
- Send service messages (confirmations, changes, safety-related notices) and, where you opt in, marketing about our event services or cafés you may care about.
- Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our terms, including cooperating with organizers or venues where necessary to resolve disputes tied to a booking.
- Analyze usage in aggregate to understand product performance and plan new features—with a focus on relevance, not surveillance of individuals.
Legal bases
Where regulations require a “legal basis” for processing (for example under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in India, or comparable frameworks depending on your location), we rely on one or more of the following:
- Consent, when we ask explicitly (cookies beyond essential, promotional messages, optional profile fields).
- Contract, to perform steps you request before or after entering a contract—such as completing a booking or providing organizer tools.
- Legitimate interests, such as securing our systems, improving the product, and preventing fraud—balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation, when we must retain or disclose information to meet accounting, tax, or regulatory duties.
You may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in these situations:
- Event organizers & café partners, to fulfill your booking, manage attendance, and deliver the experience you selected.
- Processors & subprocessors bound by data protection terms—cloud hosting, email delivery, customer support tooling, payment gateways, analytics, and security vendors.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers or auditors, under confidentiality.
- Authorities, when required by applicable law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, partners, or the public.
- Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice where required.
Third parties receiving data are responsible for their own compliance where they act as independent controllers (for example, an organizer marketing their own event list).
Cookies & similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to run the site, remember preferences, understand traffic, and measure campaign effectiveness. You can control non-essential cookies through our cookie controls (where provided) and your browser settings; blocking some cookies may limit features such as staying logged in.
We may use session and persistent cookies, local storage, and pixels from analytics or advertising partners subject to your choices and applicable law.
Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, tax, and dispute resolution requirements. Retention periods vary—for example, booking and invoice records may be kept longer than casual browsing logs. When data is no longer necessary, we delete or anonymize it in line with internal schedules and technical capabilities.
Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including access controls, encryption in transit where standard for the service, monitoring, and vendor review. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; if we become aware of an incident that materially affects you, we will notify you and regulators as required by law.
Your rights & choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, update, or delete certain personal data; port it to another service where technically feasible; object to or restrict certain processing; and opt out of marketing. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory or regulatory authority.
- Request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate profile or booking details where possible in-app or via support.
- Request deletion, subject to legal retention exceptions.
- Withdraw marketing consent or adjust notification preferences.
Children
Our services are not directed at children under the age where parental consent is required in your jurisdiction. If you believe we have collected data from a child without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take steps to delete it promptly.
Cross-border transfers
We primarily process data in India. If we transfer personal data to other countries (for example, because a subprocessor hosts infrastructure abroad), we will use safeguards required by law, such as contractual clauses or adequacy decisions, where applicable.
Third-party links & listings
Our platform links to organizer sites, café pages, maps, or social channels. This policy does not apply once you leave our service or interact with a partner’s independent listing. Please review their privacy notices before sharing additional information.
Automated decisions & profiling
We may use automated systems to detect fraud, rank search results, or enforce limits on promotions. We do not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects for you unless permitted by law and, where required, with human review or your consent.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or clarity improvements. We will publish the revised version with a new “Last updated” date and, where the changes are material, provide additional notice (for example, email or in-app banner) when required.
